A unique regional event of folk tradition and gastronomic character dedicated to Attica. A celebration of local cultural elements that constitute a rich and fascinating heritage.
The aim is to spotlight the more intangible aspects of Greek cultural heritage, presenting inclusive, community-led customs and institutions that revolve around the wealth of Greek music and dance and articulate the way of life of local people in a manner that words cannot.
The protagonists are leading virtuoso musicians of our folk tradition under the direction of clarinet virtuoso George Kotsinis.
He is accompanied by Kostas Kikilis on the violin;
Thomas Konstantinou on oud and lute;
Manousos Klapakis on percussion;
Giorgos Skordalos on the Cretan lyre and vocal
and Christos Davris on the Cretan lute.
Local associations from various parts of Greece will be present at the event including:
- The Cretan Association of Keratsini – Drapetsona “the Arkadi”
- The Cretan Association of Nice – Korydallos
- The Epirus Association of Piraeus
- The Cretan Dance Association Apteraioi
We will be welcomed by the unique handmade crafts of the Cultural Association “Chrysalida”.
The traditional dances will be accompanied by regional culinary activities.
The event is open to the public and is organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Keratsini – Drapetsonas.
